Peterson Road – Juniper Dunes Recreation Area Access Road
UPDATE: The Juniper Dunes recreation area access road draft environmental assessment (EA) has been completed and is now open for public comment. This document is a required part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), which applies to this project due to its use of federal funding. A public open house to discuss the EA and the project in general will be held at the TRAC center (6600 Burden Boulevard, Pasco, Washington 99301) at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. The Western Federal Lands Division of the Federal Highway Administration, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management and Franklin County, is planning to construct a public access to the Juniper Dunes Wilderness and off-highway vehicle areas. The project is currently in the early planning stages.
