It is the policy of the Franklin County Public Works Department that asphalt roads will be sprayed with a herbicide to control roadside vegetation, except those areas adjacent to lawns or plantings highly susceptible to herbicide damage, and urban areas. Gravel roads will be sprayed as needed and dependant upon the budget.

Adjacent property owners may request, annually, that the County not spray and that they agree to control the weeds. The request not to spray must be made in writing on a form provided by the Public Works Director / County Engineer prior to January 1st of the requested year. If the property owner does not control the weeds as agreed, the County will resume vegetation spraying in that area.

The No Spray Request shall also be issued in accordance with the Franklin County Public Works Department Policy on Vegetation Spraying (R.P.P. 3).
